Problems with your
Running Board?

The usual problem -
Running Board won't retract.

Its great to have motorised running boards, but they do have their problems.
Firstly, those swivel brackets are in a harsh environment and the bearings can become stiff and start to seize.
Secondly, the motor too is in a harsh environment, and can start to lose its pulling power after a few years of battering by the elements.

The usual scenario is that the running board wont retract when it should, but if you help it along with your foot, it does.
This can be a symptom of a fault in either the bracket bearings or the motor, so we suggest you liberally spray those bearings with penetrating lubricant, and allow it to work its way well in.
If that doesn't do the trick, you need to strip down the board and check out the bearings on the bench.
The bearings are only nylon coated steel, so they wont last forever.
If they're OK, you'll need a new motor.
